✍️ Editor (Specific Projects)


Runn provides 4 levels of account access - admin, editor, viewer and timesheet only - with varying degrees of capabilities.

Editors (Specific Projects) permissions can manage and only edit the projects they are assigned to. They can still view all projects and people details in the account.

Typically, if you just want a Project Manager to edit specific projects but not others, you can assign them as Editor (Specific Projects)

βœ… What Editor (Specific Projects) Can Do

Access Test Account

They can access and edit people and projects in the Test Account. The Test Account is shared among all users in the Runn Account. If an Editor changes or deletes data in the Test Account, all users can see those changes.

Manage Specific Projects Only

They can edit project details, budgets, assignments for the specific projects to which they have been assigned only.

They can add any person in the account to their projects.

Create New Project Tags

They can create new project tags while editing the Project Details of their assigned projects, but they cannot edit them afterwards.

Export Project Data

An Editor with All Financial Data access can export assignments or timesheets of their assigned projects only

Manage Specific Project's Timesheet

Editors can view, enter, and update number of hours logged on the timesheets of their assigned projects only.

Editors can Raise a resourcing request, respond to a request and find a person to fulfil a resourcing request for their assigned projects only.

Create New Projects

The Editor will automatically become a project editor for it, in addition to all users with Admin and Editor (All Projects and People) permissions.

Create and Manage all Project Templates

The Editor can create and edit all Project Templates in the Runn account.

Editors (Specific Projects) can view and export reports for ALL Projects and People in Runn.

πŸ‘€ What Editor (Specific Projects) Can Only View

View People Data Only

They can view all people's data, including person details, contracts and time off, but they cannot edit.

View Account-wide Data Only

With access to the Manage Tab, they can view all the following account-wide data, but cannot edit (except Projects and Project Templates):

  • People

  • Clients

  • Roles

  • Rate Cards

  • Tags

  • Teams

  • Skills

πŸ’° Access to Financial Data

The users' access to Financial Data is determined the Financial Data Access given to them. Once granted the permission, Editor (Specific Projects) are able to view the financial data for ALL projects.

⛳️ How to assign an Editor (Specific Projects) to a Project?

1. Invite the user to your Runn account

Follow the instructions in this help article to invite the user to your Runn account.

Confirm that the user has accepted the invitation and registered in Runn.

To assign the user to a Project, the user must have already accepted their invite and set up their Runn profile.

2. Assign an Editor (Specific Projects) to a Project

Admins, Editors (All Projects and People) can add project editors from each project's Edit page.

  1. From the Project Planner, click on the 3-dot icon next to the Project Name

  2. Select Edit Details

  3. In the Project Editor field, choose the Editor (Specific Projects) by their name

  4. Click Save

To appear in the list, the user must have already accepted their invite and set up their Runn profile.

Once the Editor (Specific Projects) has the right to edit their assigned project, they can also assign other Editors (Specific Projects) to their project.

πŸ—£οΈ 3. Inform the User which projects they are on

Once the Editor (Specific Projects) logged in Runn, they will see a list of all projects in their account.

Please provide the user with the Project Names of the projects that they have been assigned to, and they can search/filter and save the filter to see only their projects.
