What will happen to future assignments after I add the Public Holidays?

Public holidays will overwrite any existing assignments planned for that date. Project hours will automatically be reduced.

Public holidays will be scheduled for the current year and the following two years.

Can I schedule work on a Public Holiday?

Yes, you can schedule work on a non-working day by adding an assignment to it. This will overwrite the public holiday and appear as overtime in the utilization chart.

As of now, you can only schedule work on a public holiday, but not on any other types of time off.

How to add or delete Public Holidays in the past for people?

Changes made to Public Holidays from Settings > Public Holidays only affect future public holidays, but not the past. To adjust past public holidays:

There isn't a way to add past public holidays to people. You can bulk-add scheduled leaves as public holidays to the relevant people.

How do I add company-specific Holidays?

If you would like to add some company-specific Holidays to several people, add the "Custom Holiday" when creating a new public holidays group.

If you need to do it for different teams, simply create a new public holiday group and only assign those team members to it.

Adding People to Holiday Groups

  1. From the Public Holidays page, click on the 3-dot menu and select Edit People

  2. Click Add People

  3. Search for the people you wish to add and click Add Selected

All future public and custom holidays for that holiday group will get automatically added to the people's schedules.

If these people previously belonged to another Holiday Group, they will be removed from the old Group, and the future holidays will not duplicate.

Why does the project margin change after rescheduling a project?

When rescheduling a project, if the margins suddenly change, it’s likely due to time offs. This could happen if time offs were included in the original time period but is no longer within the assignment's timeframe after rescheduling, or if a time off that wasn’t initially included now falls within the updated schedule.

How do I add assignments if the employee contract is 40 but over 4 days?

  • Set up your contract to be "Custom"and update to 10 hours per day.

  • Assignments that are dragged will automatically be based on the account's FTE default (often 40 hours over 5 days).

This means you'll need to remember update the total effort as it will automatically default back to the standard work week.

  • On the Project Planner Advanced Setting (cog-menu), turn on Show Total Effort

  • Once you've created an assignment- use "Hours per day" to ensure it's showing 10 hours and the total effort is 40 hours. Or if you are working 8 hours on a project, adjust the Total Effort (not Effort) to 32 hours.

How to export all time-offs from Runn?

You can export all scheduled leaves of all active people in the account with the start date and end date via our CSV tool. Learn more here. Exporting public holidays and rostered day offs are not available at the moment.

The Public Holidays added to people are incorrect. How to fix it?

If the public holidays displayed on the People Planner are not as expected, there could be various reasons:

The Region was not selected when the Holiday Group was created

If you are expecting to see regional holidays, but they are not added to the people in the holiday group, it is possible that the Region was not selected when the holiday group was created:

How to fix future public holidays

  • As an Admin user, go to Settings > Public Holidays

  • Identify the Holiday Group, check if the Region column is empty:

  • If it is empty, it means the region was not selected when the holiday group was created.

  • Delete the holiday group by clicking the 3-dot icon > Delete

  • Follow these steps to create a new holiday group and select the correct country and region

  • This will update the future public holidays for the people

The list of public holidays has changed after the holiday group was created

It is possible that the government's public holiday arrangements changed midyear, after the holiday group was created. If you noticed a discrepancy in the public holidays listed on the People Planner, here's what you can do:

How to update future public holidays

  • As an Admin user, go to Settings > Public Holidays

  • Identify the Holiday Group > click 3-dot icon > Edit Details

  • Confirm if the list of public holidays reflects the lastest update displaying your expected public holidays:

  • If yes, click Save. All the future public holidays will be updated for people added to the holiday group.
