Here are some common permission settings for Resource Manager in an organization:
Resource Manager
Can Assign all people to any projects
If the Resource Manager is:
Responsible for fulfilling the resource requests from ALL projects in the Runn account, and
Has the right to add ALL people in the Runn account to ALL projects
User Permission Setup:
User Type - Manager
Manage Projects - All
Manage People - All (they will also have the right to edit People details)
Add People to Managed Projects - All People
Can only assign people from a specific Resource Pool to any projects
If the Resource Manager is:
Responsible for fulfilling the resource requests from ALL projects in the Runn account
Has the right to add only specific people in the Runn account to ALL projects (e.g. can only add people from the resource pool that they manage)
User Permission Setup:
User Type - Manager
Manage Projects - All
Manage People - Restricted (they will also have the right to edit People details of the restricted list of people)
Add People to Managed Projects - Only Managed People
