While Runn supports creating custom working days and hours in a contract, the number of hours worked per day has to be consistent. If your staff is contracted to work irregular hours every day of the week, for example:
Mon to Wed: working full-time hours (8 hours)
Thur: Half-day (4 hours)
Fri: Not working - rostered day off
Total contract capacity in a week is 8 hours x 3 days + 4 hours = 28 hours
Depending on how granular you need to view a person's availability in Runn, there are 2 ways of setting this up:
Method 1: Set up the working hours based on contract capacity in a week (Recommended)
If you are often planning at a high level and you don't need to know a person's availability on a day-by-day basis, you can set up a custom contract based on the total contract capacity:
Based on the example above, you can still set Friday as a rostered day off, evenly distribute the contract capacity per week (28 hours) across the remaining 4 working days, and set the hours per day to 7 hours. The total contract hours per week are still correctly represented as 28 hours.
This setup is faster, but it won't reflect the most accurate working hours per day.
Method: 2 Use partial time off to denote half-day work
If you need to accurately represent the working hours per day, you can manually add a half-day time off per week to the person.
Based on the example, set up Friday as a rostered day off, and the hours per day are still 8 hours per day:
Manually add 4-hour day-offs per week to the person, or use the Time off CSV to bulk import the partial time-offs:
The contract capacity for the week is still 28 hours, and the working hours per day are accurately reflected.
