  • All Admin users will have access to All Financial Data (all rates and salaries)
    โ€‹

  • Viewer All Users will gain additional view-only access to the Shared Test Account and list of users.
    โ€‹

  • There will be slight adjustments to other permission types as detailed in the table below.

What are we improving?

On 2 December 2024, we will launch a new permission structure in Runn to enable more granular control of People and Projects.

Under the new permission structure, you can:

  • Restrict Project Managers' right to add people to projects

  • Enable Team Leads to only edit specific projects and people

  • New Admin User Type with Restricted Financial Access

What is changing on 2 December 2024?

The table below offers a breakdown of the current Account Types, their new names as User Types and the changes that will be made to each existing Account Type:

Edit Account Settings and Data - On

Users will, by default, have access to All Financial Data regardless of their current financial data permission settings.

Users can no longer see Views Settings

Manage Projects - All

Manage People - View Only

Users can no longer create new tags or workstreams.

They can no longer view Account Settings and Views Settings.

Users can add comments to resourcing requests on projects that they do not manage.

Users can no longer create new tags or workstreams

Users can no longer view Account Settings and Views Settings.

Users will have access to the Shared Test Account and list of users.

Users will be able to Copy the Live Account to the Test Account and reset the Shared Test Account.

Users can no longer see Views settings.

Users will no longer have access to Financial Data on the Planner

What do you need to do?

All user types will be updated automatically when the new permission structure is released. No action is required from you to update the permission settings.

If you do not wish for existing users to gain additional access as outlined above, please downgrade the specific users before 2 December 2024.

You can use the CSV tool to update users' permission levels in bulk.
