We are launching a new permission structure on 2 December 2024 to enable more granular control of People and Projects.
Major Updates and Benefits
π Restrict Project Managers' right to add people to projects
With the new Manager user type, you can control who Project Managers are allowed to add to their projects.
Options include permitting them to add anyone, only the people they manage or no one. Additionally, you can restrict them to adding only placeholders, not actual people, to their projects:
This enhancement promotes a more organized resource allocation process and empowers Resource Managers to oversee resourcing demands more effectively and holistically.
πΌ Enable Team Leads to only edit specific projects and people
With the new Manager user type, you can assign Team Lead to edit only their team's projects (Restricted Projects) and their team members' details (Restricted People) in Runn.
This ensures they can focus on their responsibilities while preventing unauthorized changes to account-wide data.
π¦ New Admin User Type with Restricted Financial Access
Editor (All Projects and People) will be renamed as Admin with restricted access to editing account settings and financial data.
The renaming is to better reflect their access rights, which include editing account-wide data such as Clients, Teams, Contracts under the Manage Tab - a Data Admin User.
In the future, additional permissions will be granted to this user type, enabling you to assign more data admins to maintain data integrity in Runn. This change will help ease the data maintenance workload for full admins while safeguarding sensitive financial data.
