You will notice some permission levels are renamed this week, but the features users can access remain unchanged at the moment.

We will be undertaking some improvements to user permissions.

The changes will allow more flexibility and granularity when setting users' permissions. We will be making these changes in stages and are excited to give you more options and flexibility.

Upcoming New Permission Structure

Under the new permission structure, you can:

  • Assign Data Manager to help with data management in Runn with restricted financial access

  • Assign People Manager to only edit People but not projects

  • Restrict Project Manager's right to assign people to their projects

You can check out the key changes expected here:

Gradual Rollout

We will be making these changes gradually and are excited to give you more options and flexibility.

In the first stage starting this week, we will gradually rename the following permission options:

Renaming Permission Levels

Editor (Specific Projects) to Editor (Restricted Projects)

Editor Type

Renamed Editor Type

Editor (Specific Projects)

Editor (Restricted Projects)

While the permission level is renamed, the permission access remains unchanged.

All users can still access all the features/ functions that they are currently assigned.

"All, except salaries" to "Restricted"

The following Financial Data Permission will be renamed:

Current Financial Data Permission

Renamed Financial Data Permission

All, except salaries

Restricted

CSV Templates and API Inputs Remain Unchanged

During this transitional phase, you can still use the existing CSV templates and API inputs without any changes until further notice.

What's Next?

We will make further announcements when we roll out the new permission structure and the plans for migration.

Thank you! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to improve your experience with Runn.
