Runn offers both Job Title and Roles.
Job Titles
Job titles can be used to highlight actual titles and align with your HR system. They can also be used to filter and find the right resources. They do not have an associated cost however. These are connected to the Default Role. Learn more here.
Roles
Roles encompasses both default role and project roles. Default roles are connected to billing hourly rates. But people's cost to business is associated to their contract details.
When you add a resource to a project, their default role will be selected. But they can play a different role on the project. If they play more than one role, they will need to be added twice under each role.
Roles on projects are about the billing hourly rate and not the default cost. The default cost is only for placeholders- to assist you in estimating costs. We will always use the cost to business in Contract details to determine project costs.
Same project - different roles
Click on Add Person or Placeholder.
Select the person you wish to add with their first role in the project, check off the box and click on "Add Selected".
3. Click on Add Person or Placeholder again - but this time click on the downward arrow next to the role and choose a new role, check off the box and click on Add Selected.
4. You will now see the resource twice under the same project with different roles:
If you need to add work assignments on the same day for one person, you'll need to create either another role and follow the process above or use workstreams.
