Default Settings
Workload of Tentative Projects is Included
To exclude the workload of tentative projects from the report, disable the Tentative Toggle.
Placeholders are Included
Placeholders are included by default and will affect the totals in metrics. To exclude placeholders, apply the Person Type filter and select People only:

Compare how many hours Employees vs Contractors worked for different periods
As an HR Manager, I want to compare the number of hours employees and contractors worked over different periods to determine if we should hire more full-time staff.
I want to create a report that compares the total hours worked by employees and contractors by role over the past year.
Creating the custom report:
Go to Reports > Explorer
Group> Add Grouping > Person Contract Information > Select Employment Type
Columns > Effort > Select Total Hours and Financials > Business Cost and Project Cost
Time Period > Select Date Range > Set it as Jan 1st to Dec 31st
Click Create Report
