The Manage Projects permission allows you to give the manager edit, create and delete access to 'All' or a 'Restricted' list of Projects.

The visibility of Budget and Project Margins is subject to the Manager's Financial Data settings.

All

When All is selected, the Manager can perform the following actions:

  • Edit all projects and project templates

  • Delete projects without assignments or actual hours

  • Create new projects and project templates

  • Add, edit placeholders and manage resource requests to all projects and project templates

  • Edit assignments on people who have been assigned to all projects and project templates

  • Edit actual hours logged to timesheets on all projects

  • Add Project details, workstreams and custom fields to all projects and project templates

  • Delete any Project Templates

  • Create new workstreams on all projects

  • Create new tags on all projects.

They cannot:

  • Delete any projects with assignments

  • Create or update projects via the CSV tool

  • Create new clients

  • Create new project custom field options

  • Edit or Delete any Projects Tags and Workstreams

To access these functions, the user needs to be set as an Admin user.


Restricted

When Restricted is selected, the Manager can perform the following actions:

  • Edit only the projects they are assigned as Managers (Restricted Projects)

  • Create new projects

  • Delete Projects they managed if they don't consist of assignments

  • Edit actual hours logged to timesheets on only the Restricted Projects

  • Add, edit placeholders and raise resource requests to only the Restricted Projects

  • Lock the timesheets of only the Restricted projects (Timesheet Manual Locking)

  • Create new workstreams on only the Restricted Projects

  • Create new tags on only the Restricted Projects

  • Comment on Resourcing Requests on projects that they do not manage

  • Create, edit and delete all project templates

They cannot edit or delete any other projects they don't manage. All other Projects will remain as view only.

The Restricted-Projects Manager can still view all Projects and People in the account.

Managed Projects

The Projects listed here will be editable by the user.


Checkbox - can assign all People from the account to Managed Projects

This box is unchecked by default. This means that the Manager can only add people they manage to their projects. If their Manage People settings are off, they cannot add any named resources to projects and can only add placeholders.

When checked, the Manager can assign all people in the Runn account to the projects they managed, regardless of their Manage People settings.

Check this box only when you want the Project Manager to have the right to directly add ALL people they don't manage to their projects.
