In Runn, Full-time equivalent (FTE) calculation is a way to measure work done over time.
To better understand how we calculate FTE in our reporting tool, you can see some examples below.
For example:
If someone works 10 days in a month with 20 working days:
Hours worked: 10 days Γ 8 hours/day = 80 hours
Days worked: 10 days
FTE calculation: 10 days worked / 20 total working days = 0.5 FTE
Other examples:
1 person working full-time for the entire month = 1 FTE.
2 people working full-time for the entire month = 2 FTE
1 person working full-time for half the month = 0.5 FTE
2 people working full-time for half the month = 1 FTE
1 person working 1 day in a 20 working day month = 0.05 FTE
If you want to see the number of FTEs for a specific month, for example, if someone works 20 hours over 3 days during that month, this will be calculated as:
20 hours / 24 hours (3 days x 8 hours/day) = 0.8 FTE
0.8 FTE / 20 days (total working days in the month) = 0.04 FTE
