What is a resource seat under Monthly Plans?

  • A resource seat is a license for one managed resource (person) in Runn. Each managed person requires a seat. If you have a staffing change and remove a person, the seat is freed up. When you add their replacement, they will now be occupy this seat.

  • Adding more people requires purchasing more seats, which automatically increases the total charges. If you add a new person with no seat available, a new seat will automatically be added and a pro-rated charge will be applied to your next invoice.

  • When a person is archived or deleted, their seat becomes available for reuse but does not automatically affect the resource seat count.

  • To lower monthly billing, after archiving or deleting people, Admins must manually reduce the seat count on the Plan & Billing page.

Placeholders and archived people are both free, unlimited and do not take up any resource seats πŸŽ‰


How do I add resource seats?

  • When any Admin or Manager user adds a new person to your planner, if all the existing resource seats are occupied, a new resource seat will be added automatically and a pro-rated charge will be added to your next invoice.

    • Example: From the account below, both of the 2 resource seats are occupied by active people.
      If I add one more person to the account, a new resource seat will be created:

  • If there are still available resource seats, those will be taken up before new seats are created.

  • Admins with account settings can also pre-purchase seats any time.


How do I remove a resource seat?

Only Admin users with Edit Account Settings set to On can remove resource seats.

  • Visit the Plan & Billing tab

  • View the resource seats count and how many are in use

  • Click Edit to remove any unoccupied resource seats as needed

  • When removed, a pro-rated credit will be applied to the next monthly payment.
