What to do when I see the "Option does not exist" error?

You will encounter this error when:

  • You are adding custom field data to your person/ project,

  • The field type is single-select or multi-select custom fields, and

  • The custom field option on your CSV file doesn't exist in Runn.

In the above example, RMI Certificate is added as a custom field input against a person under the custom field Certification (a multi-select custom field).

This option doesn't exist in the account if you view from the Manage > Custom Field page:

In this case, you have to manually add the custom field options in Runn to ensure it is intentional.

  1. On the Review Entries page, copy the new custom field option to be added (e.g. RMI Certificate)

  2. From your web browser, open a second tab and go to https://app.runn.io/

  3. Click on the People/Project tab

  4. Click the + sign and paste the new custom field option

  5. Press Enter

  6. Return to the CSV browser tab and add the new custom field options one by one on the Custom Field browser Tab

  7. Once completed, exit from the Review Entries page and refresh the webpage

  8. Re-import the file again. The errors should disappear since the custom field options are now added.
