Coming soon - New Display Modes on Planners & Project Side Panel

Updated today

We are refining the display modes on the Project and People Planner to improve visibility and better support your resource planning process.

People Planner

New Display Mode - Placeholder Demand (FTE)

The Placeholder Demand display mode in the People Planner filters the view to display only placeholders:

At the group level, it automatically sums the required FTE, allowing you to quickly see the total demand for a specific role, skill, team or custom field.

This helps teams understand upcoming hiring or resourcing needs.

When grouped by Project, you can see the Placeholder Demand FTE per project:

Project Planner

The display mode dropdown has been added to the Project Planner, allowing easy access to different visual settings. You can now choose between two display modes within the Project Planner:

Project Timeline

This is the existing display mode of the Project Planner - you can see all projects and their timelines at a glance:

Phases & Milestones

This new display mode replaces the "always show phases" option in the Project Planner Settings.

It offers a more compact layout, making it easier for you to see both phases and milestones alongside your project timeline. Plus, it shows a nice number of projects at once, so you won't need to scroll as much:

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: You can drag and drop phases and milestones directly in this display mode without expanding each project individually!

Project Side Panel

Similar to the People Side Panel, clicking the Project Name now opens the Project Side Panel, which provides a quick way to view and update project details without leaving the planner:

It is also available in Manage β†’ Projects and Project Dashboards.

From the side panel, you can

  • View or edit project details such as:

    • project name

    • client

    • project status

    • custom fields

    • project notes

  • Star or follow a project to receive notifications about updates.

This allows you to manage project information quickly while staying in context.
