If you run similar projects, a quick way to set this is up is as a tentative project and then duplicating and changing the project details it as needed. Then, you can follow your normal procedures to source a project!

Set Up the Template

  1. Create a new project and add your phases, milestones and budget as needed. Set the project as "Tentative" and name it "Template-" to make it easier to find.

  2. Add your resources as Placeholders. Edit placeholder to add skills, tags or teams if desired.

3. Add your budgets by clicking on the 3 dots and selecting "Edit Budget"

4. Add all assignments for each placeholder.

5. You can also add skills, tags or teams for your placeholders if desired to help you find the correct resources:

Your template is now ready to use as needed!

When you toggle on Tentative projects, be sure to toggle this one off to ensure it does not affect your placeholders capacity.

Using the Template

  1. Click on the 3 dots and choose " Duplicate"

2. Name the project and choose a new start date.

3. Return to this project, click the 3 dots and choose "Edit Project".

4. Choose the correct client, status, rate card and model. You can also edit/add tags or teams. Click Save.

5. You can also edit the budget is need by clicking on the 3 dots and choosing edit budget:

6. You are now ready to find your resources! Source your project as your normally would or click on the 3 dots next to the placeholder and click on "Find {role}" to transfer assignments from your palceholders to a real resource.
